What is a Private Network?

A Sencrop private network refers to a grouping of ag-weather stations within a specific area. Connected to one another, they provide subscribers (farmers, agronomists, network managers) with real-time weather data as well as weather forecast and history through the Sencrop application. Each network is managed, customised, and named by a farming group.

Federate a Network of Members

A private network of Sencrop connected weather stations is a community invited members can subscribe to. This allows them to benefit from a grid of ultra-local, 100% reliable weather data. To what end? Collaborating towards the development of precision, smart agriculture.

Sencrop allows farmers to connect with each other through the weather stations and to share the data collected from their fields for a fully collaborative approach. The members of your network gain access to strategic information that can help them make the right calls at the right time when managing their crops.

Ultra-Local Data to Analyse

The data collected by the Sencrop ag-weather stations allows users to peruse past, present, and future weather conditions within a given area. The information gathered from the different plots (temperatures, humidity, rainfall, wind speed and direction…) and used by farmers on an ultra-local level creates a holistic view of the territory and its meteorological evolution. Everyone can benefit from it.

Analysing this data contributes to the precision of the advice technicians can provide. It also helps in the cohesion of territorial management.

Innovative Services

For our partners in agricultural cooperatives and farming groups, a private network is also a tool to encourage more registrations. Sencrop’s territorial grid of weather stations provides an innovative service that can be tailored to members’ needs.

This is a way to complement their service offerings with a high-quality option: the implementation of measuring devices within their fields to give them access to smart agriculture. It is also an argument in favour of members adopting a decision support tool.

Tailored, Accurate Advice

Three levers allow our partnering farming groups and agricultural cooperatives to provide personalised advice to answer their members’ specific needs:

Daily ag-weather data updates straight from the fields
Access to data history and to the weather forecast
Stations seamlessly connected to decision support tools

Thanks to this advice, farmers can rationalise chemical treatments, save money, prevent the risks of frost and diseases and, ultimately optimise yields.

We wanted to create added value thanks to a grid of weather stations,

so that everyone could have access to reliable, collaborative weather data. All technicians are equipped to monitor data within their own area and can connect with the farmers.

The request for a network came from some of our members who were developing an interest in smart objects and weather stations.

To start mapping out our grid, we first implemented 15 stations. We now have 50 and hope to equip every farmer in the future.
